Lotte Hotel Gimhae (Busan Area): Local’s Best Value 5-Star Review

Hello! I recently took a short vacation to the Busan area, and today I’d like to introduce the fantastic accommodation where I stayed “Lotte Hotel Gimhae”.

It’s located near Busan and offers an incredibly affordable price despite being a 5-star hotel!
Let’s dive right in!

Lotte Hotel & Resort Gimhae

Location & Official Website

The location of Lotte Hotel & Resort Gimhae is quite good. You can arrive from almost anywhere in Busan by car in about 20 minutes.

Of course, the area around the hotel offers plenty to do, like Gimhae Waterpark, Lotte Outlet, and Lotte World Busan. Even if you book your stay here and plan to explore Busan, you won’t experience much inconvenience.

Price

For a single night in a Deluxe Double room, I paid approximately 140,000 KRW (Korean Won), which was a weekday rate.

It’s astonishing that even during peak season or on weekends, the price rarely exceeds 200,000 KRW for this 5-star hotel.

Considering that 5-star hotels in Busan often cost between 300,000 and 400,000 KRW per night,
this place is truly an excellent value for the money!

Exterior & Parking Lot

Lotte Hotels & Resorts Gimhae exterior, ground parking lot, and Waterpark slides in the background.

The resort building is very long and spacious. There’s an above-ground parking lot in front of the hotel, and Gimhae Lotte Waterpark is attached right next to the hotel.

There’s even a dedicated entrance gate for Lotte Waterpark on one side of the hotel’s above-ground parking lot!

In the peak summer season, the wait for the Waterpark entrance can be enormous, but staying here makes using it much more convenient.

The first-floor lobby is massive. If you walk a little to the right from the lobby, you’ll find a smoking room.

At the far right end of the above-ground parking lot is the entrance to the underground parking lot.

Since the sun was scorching when I visited, I decided to park underground.

The underground parking lot is also very spacious, and the parking spaces are generous, making it easy to park.

The underground parking lot is connected to the hotel lobby, allowing you to move directly after getting out of your car.

Plus, there are carts right next to the entrance, which are a lifesaver if you have heavy luggage!

Interior

The hotel front desk is located on the first floor. I took the elevator connected to the underground parking lot up to the lobby.

When I arrived in the lobby, I saw a self-service check-in kiosk. Since I visited during the off-season, it seemed like the kiosk wasn’t in use.

The lobby itself is much more majestic than the pictures show, and it was wonderfully clean and comfortable!

Large, silver, drop-shaped art sculpture in the lobby, with a restaurant entrance behind it.

There was also a large piece of artwork with an unclear intention.

Behind the artwork, a restaurant was located. I didn’t dine there, but I heard the quality of both breakfast and dinner is quite good, so it might be worth a try!

Check-in

Check-in: From 3:00 PM
Check-out: Until 11:00 AM

I did my check-in at the 1st-floor lobby. I arrived around 2:00 PM and was able to get an early check-in without an extra charge!

Keep in mind that this can vary depending on the room cleaning and reservation status that day, so it’s a good idea to inquire before your visit.

Deluxe Double Room & View

This hotel is a newly built property completed in 2024. Perhaps that’s why the interior was so incredibly clean and comfortable!

You can tell just by looking at the pictures, right?

The closet is quite large, so you’ll have enough space to hang your clothes even if you have many garments.

What’s more, this is a cookable hotel, so it’s fully equipped with an induction stovetop, an electric kettle, and all the necessary dishware. The refrigerator was also quite large.

The room features a TV, an office chair, and a desk lamp. I tried working on my laptop while sitting in the chair, and it was surprisingly comfortable!

The bathroom, as expected of a new hotel, was spotless.

There were plenty of towels, which I appreciated. There are two bathrobes in total: one in the closet and one in the bathroom.

The highlight of this room is the terrace view! The room I was assigned had a Garden View. Stepping out onto the terrace offers an expansive, open view.

The park complex right in front, created by Lotte, is so pretty and great for a walk!

A Dyson hair dryer and an Illy capsule coffee machine were also placed on a shelf.

I really loved these little details, as it shows they pay attention to quality.

Amenities

Convenience Store

The amenities were mostly concentrated on the basement floor (B1) and the 1st floor.

Convenience Store (7-Eleven): Located on B1, where you can easily do some light shopping.

Laundry Room & Screen Golf Driving Range

Laundry Room and Screen Golf Driving Range Also located on B1. The interiors were very clean!

Fitness Center (Gym)

I forgot to take a picture, but the facility was excellent. it Located on the 2nd floor. All the machines were Technogym products, and there was a wide variety of equipment. It’s free for guests! They also have a resident trainer, so you could ask for quick exercise tips.

Tennis Court

A unique feature is the hotel’s private outdoor tennis court.

The court conditions and overall management seemed excellent.

While it’s not free like the gym, guests get a discount and can use it affordably for about 20,000 KRW for 60 minutes!

Rackets and balls are lent for free, so you don’t need to bring your own gear.

There is also a screen tennis court inside the 1st-floor tennis desk, perfect if you’re alone.

Sauna

Located on the 2nd floor, along with the swimming pool. Guests can use it at a discounted rate, so I recommend giving it a try!

As I keep emphasizing, the sauna facilities were exceptionally clean and nice, living up to the standards of a new hotel.

Inside the sauna, there were two baths, a shower room, and a dry sauna.

Next to the powder room, there’s a small lounge where you can relax comfortably in a massage chair.

I slept like a log!

Swimming Pool

The pool isn’t very large, but the view is so good that it felt very healing.

Outdoors, there was a hot tub and one large pool.

Indoors, there’s just one large pool. The size is a bit disappointing, but since Lotte Waterpark is right next door, I recommend going there if you love swimming!

My Rating & Summary

Subjective Star Rating : ★★★★☆

The biggest advantage is simply being able to enjoy a 5-star hotel at this price.

While the interior facilities might not be as lavish or luxurious as more expensive 5-star hotels, the cleanliness that comes with being a new hotel (completed only one year ago) completely makes up for it!

This hotel is perfect for couples and family trips alike. If you’re traveling to Busan or the surrounding area,

I highly recommend Lotte Hotel & Resort Gimhae!

That’s all for today’s post. Thank you for reading!
